Alabama White Sauce, the Best BBQ Sauce for Chicken!

Alabama White Sauce can be the recipe that your friends will continue to talk about every time a discussion comes up about which is the best sauce to top off your BBQ Chicken. We all know that BBQ means something different depending on who you are talking to and what part of the country you live in. You might be thinking that the only good BBQ Sauce is a tomato or vinegar-based sauce. A large part of the BBQ world would say you are wrong! This Alabama White Sauce is proof that a BBQ sauce doesn’t need to be tomato based or sweet to be damn tasty.

I am a big fan of BBQ and grilling. Whether I’m smoking a Memphis-style dry rub rack of ribs, making Sweet Kansas City BBQ, or enjoying California Santa Marie style Tri-Tip. (Yes…California does have its own style; check here)! Check here for my blog post about BBQ

So when I have a chance to try something new, I am more than happy to experiment to see if I can step up my BBQ game so to speak!

WHAT IS ALABAMA WHITE SAUCE?

When talking about chicken, there is nothing more unique than an Alabama White Sauce. Most BBQ sauces are not white, so it took a little while to convince myself I needed to try this. This style sauce was made famous by Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q. It is mayo-based and gets its kick from horseradish and vinegar. You won’t find an easier recipe to make because you don’t need to cook this sauce. Just give it a little time in the refrigerator for all the spices and ingredients to come together.

Once you try this sauce, you may never go back to a tomato-based sauce for your BBQ chicken!

By the way, the sauce is also great on fried chicken!

All I’m saying is go a little crazy and keep an open mind… you may be surprised by trying something new. Leave some comments below and let me know what you think about Alabama White Sauce! As always, thanks for Spending Time in My Kitchen!
