South Bay at Its Best….

Going to my brother Steve’s house in Palos Verdes for Thanksgiving. I have to make a decision, stay in town overnight or drive my 2 hours back to Temecula. There is a beautiful Resort about 15 minutes away overlooking the Pacific Coast. Well, since I really didn’t want to drive home after a full tryptophan induced meal falling asleep at the wheel dreaming of turkey legs, there was no question. Let’s stay at The Terranea Resort.

Neither my son Conor nor I have ever stayed over night there, so this was a great time to experience the Resort. Right when we get there, they hand us both a glass of champagne while we were waiting to check in. Nice way to start the day

The first thing I notice as I walk in the room is the beautiful view outside on our balcony. Yep, I am ready to enjoy our time there. Dinner time is at 4:00 pm and it’s still early in the day so Conor and I go off looking for a little snack before dinner.

There are so many pathways throughout the Resort, you feel like you are walking through nature. Anyway, my son reminds me about the purpose of our walk. So, onward we walk through the Resort.

We find our way to Nelson’s, a sports pub type restaurant providing a casual eating environment. Since we both knew based on prior years with me making the Pumpkin Bread Wild Mushroom Stuffing and the Butternut Squash and Pumpkin Soup, there was going to be a ton of food to eat tonight for Thanksgiving.

We decided to split a plate of Buffalo Wings. There was great flavor to the wings. I might have liked them a little spicier, but they definitely hit the spot.

Looking out from Terranea

It’s finally time for Thanksgiving Dinner and we are off. The family dinner was awesome. A lot of food was provided and eaten as predicted. And being able to just drive 15 minutes back to the Resort was a perfect ending of the night!

And just to mention, the service at the Terranea was incredible, including the individuals at the front desk, from Nelson’s to the valets getting our car. Can’t wait to come back and spend a little longer time to gain a better experience of the Resort.

As always, thanks for Spending Time in My Kitchen!
