The Best Pumpkin Bread

This is the pumpkin bread recipe I use with my Pumpkin Bread Sausage Wild Mushroom Stuffing. Don’t let that stop you from making this easy recipe anytime you are in the mood! It is great for breakfast. Toast it up and add a little honey butter. Perfect!!

Great bread recipe to use for your stuffing or to have with your morning coffee!

Ingredients

  • 2.5 Cups All-purpose flour

  • 2 Cups Whole wheat flour

  • 2 Cups Sugar

  • 1 Tbl Baking powder

  • 2 tsp Baking soda

  • 2 tsp Salt

  • 4 Eggs, room temperature

  • 2 cups canned pumpkin

  • 1 cup = 2 sticks of butter, cut into chunks

Directions

  • Position rack in lower third of the oven and preheat to 350°. Cooking spray 2 loaf pans.
  • Sift flours, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda in a large bowl
  • Combine eggs, pumpkin, salt, and butter chunks into the mixer
  • Slowly add dry ingredients (sometimes easier to mix with hands – your choice)
  • Divide batter between two pans
  • Bake until brown – Use the old toothpick test, stick the wooden pick into the bread, and if it comes out dry, the bread is done.
