This last weekend turned out to be a “Doffo Winery Weekend”. If you are familiar with the wineries in the Temecula Valley, you will know of the great wines produced at the Doffo Winery. The Winery definitely showcases their Italian and Argentine heritage in the wine they produce and the food they serve at their dinners. As members, we were able to enjoy all the activities this last weekend.
If you are foodies, you know the name Andrew Zimmern. Friday night, at the winery we had a chance to view a show Andrew Zimmern produced called “Family Dinners” spotlighting the Doffo Family. For those interested, you can find it on Discovery+, 2nd Season – Episode 7. Definitely worth viewing!
The Saturday night dinner at the winery celebrated a family member’s birthday and an introduction to their new Petite Syrah they just released. From the first taste you can tell this wine will be one that will age very well. The menu for the night included some carpaccio, a short rib pasta, and a panne cotta. I was so ready for the dessert, I forgot to take a picture. Me bad…
With all this activity, we decided to book the room they have at the winery for members. This “suite” is just as good as any four-star Resort. At the end of the night everyone had to get into their car and go home after some great wine and food. We on the other hand were able to walk over to our room, turn on the fire pit, and enjoy some more wine. So much fun!
If you are new to the Temecula area or visiting for the weekend be sure to stop over and see the Doffo Winery. You will find the winery a great place to sit back, relax, and enjoy some great wine.
Leave some comments below as to your favorite wineries. As always, thanks for Spending Time in My Kitchen!
